LOWELL REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEETING
May 19, 2010
6:00 PM
 
The meeting was called to order by President Niksch.   The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll call was taken. Members answering the roll call were Jim Langen, Doug Niksch and Brian Sanders. Absent were John Alessia and Phil Kuiper. Also present were Director of Community Development Wilbur Cox, Consultant Matt Reardon, School Board Member Michelle Dumbsky and Attorney Bonnie Coleman
 
Approval of Minutes:
President Niksch asked for a motion to approve the April 7, 2010 special meeting minutes. Mr. Langen moved to approve the minutes. Seconded by Mr. Sanders. Voting was all in favor. Mr. Niksch asked for a motion to approve the April 21, 2010 meeting minutes. Mr. Sanders moved to approve the minutes. Seconded by Mr. Langen. Voting was all in favor.   
 
Discussion: A review of the Economic Development Area Plan and Outline. Matt Reardon suggested that a public open house should be scheduled for input from the public. Mr. Cox explained that this would be a good time to discuss how this would be funded.   Mr. Reardon stated that a general levy is how most Redevelopment Commissions get started.   
 
Public Reuse and Facilities Planning.   Matt Reardon discussed the e-mail sent regarding the meeting with the School Board on May 5, 2010. Mrs. Dumbsky stated that the School Board will meet on the May 27th and she would approach Doug Ward and give the board an update as to where the redevelopment committee stands. 
 
A discussion followed regarding what would be a good date to have a meeting before the public meeting. A meeting date was agreed upon for June 2, 2010 at 4:30 PM.  
 
Adjournment: Mr. Langen moved to adjourn at 7:20 PM.
