Our Vision

The Lowell Parks and Recreation Department will continually strive to serve as the center of their community by providing all citizens with positive leisure and recreational experiences which significantly contributed to increased life satisfaction and appreciation of the Town of Lowell. We will work to create partnerships with area businesses and civic organizations in order to gain support for and market our programs. Our programs will maintain the highest level of quality while providing our participants with leadership and guidance in the physical, mental, and spiritual components of life. This leadership and guidance will be administered by a Parks Department, which consists of hard working, dedicated, and knowledgeable individuals, which model an exemplary lifestyle to the community.

3.)  After hours you can drop your registration form, waiver and payment in the utility deposit slot located at the Town Hall, 501 E. Main Street Lowell, IN

Bring your family, lawn chairs and blankets to Freedom Park, 17105 Cline Ave. for FREE movies in the park! Visit our “concession stand” where popcorn, candy and bottled water will be available!
Movies will be shown at dusk!

“RUN YOUR FIRST 5K” – AGES 16 & UP
Have you always wanted to run a 5K (3 miles) and not sure where to begin?
This class is perfect for you!
You will receive the tools and knowledge to safely run your first 5K!
Taught by a Certified Fitness Instructor from the Fitness Edge.  Class is held at Fitness Edge, 289 Westmeadow Pl. (turn N. at Casey’s) Saturday, 9:00-10:00am (6 weeks)

Present the 12th Annual Buckley 5-Mile Run or 2-Mile Walk ~
Saturday, July 31st 2010, 7:30am Sharp
CRS Gold Cup Series Race
 
Picturesque, challenging, unique 5-miler. Features out and back with loop. Runners begin on Belshaw Road, eventually making their way back to the pioneer farm, where the course becomes cross-country, meandering through the park itself.
 
Split times read at miles 1-4, 3 water stations, digital clock and computerized results at the chute. Refreshments galore! Huge raffle!
 
Run age categories – 0-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and up, Athena, Clydesdale
 
Guaranteed shirts and sizes to all pre-registered! Walk awards to the first 12 finishers. Run awards to overall (male/female), masters (male/female), first three finishers in each age group division (male/female), first three Clydesdales (200 lbs. & up), first three Athenas (150 lbs. & up)

INTERMEDIATE – 6 & 7 yr. olds
JUNIOR – 8-10 yr. olds (no older than 10 by 8/29/10)
MAJOR – 11-14 yr. olds (no older than 14 by 8/29/10)
 
$35 res/$40 non-res
Includes T-shirt and socks
 
Season will run for 6 weeks, August 29th-October 10th. All games are played on Saturday at Freedom Park. Practices will begin the week of August 17th.

Vaccines must accompany your registration form and will be kept on file.
It is your responsibility to provide a new copy when vaccines are updated.
